Stanley M. Davison - Chairman

Mr. Davison began his career with the Bank of Montreal in 1946 and over the ensuing 45 years rose to become its Vice Chairman, and a director with the bank. While serving as its President in the 1980’s, Mr. Davison also was elected as a Governor with the Calgary Petroleum Club, The Glenbow Museum and The Banff School of Fine Arts. He is a graduate of the Harvard Executive Management Program (1981). Upon retiring from the Bank of Montreal in 1991, Mr. Davison served as a director for several companies including The Fuji Bank of Canada, Intercity Gas Corporation, Fox Energy Corporation, and Ty Resources Limited. He also served as a Commissioner on the British Columbia Securities Commission from 1992 to 1998. Mr. Davison was elected to the Board of Directors of Solara Exploration Ltd. in 1995.


John D. Boyd, P.Geoph. - Director

Mr. Boyd is former manager of Geophysics at Amoco Petroleum Canada Company Ltd. where he began his career. Subsequently, he founded Boyd Geophysical/PetroSearch Consulting which has provided geophysical contracting and processing services to the oil and gas industry in Canada for the past thirty-five years. Mr. Boyd is a former president of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geophysicists and a member of  the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA). He is a former president of The Rotary Club of Calgary. Mr. Boyd was appointed to the Board of Directors of Solara Exploration Ltd. in 2006.


Alfred F. Fischer, P.Geol.
- Director

Mr. Fischer worked for Gulf Canada Resources Inc. from 1972 to 1995 in various positions of increasing responsibility including manager of exploitation, exploration and development operations for Western Canada. During the term of his employment at Gulf, he was also manager of Frontiers, Corporate and Property Acquisitions and Divestures. In 1995, Mr. Fischer retired from Gulf to pursue various roles as an executive and director of several oil and gas companies in Canada. He served as a director of Fox Energy Corporation, Ty Energy Corporation, Ty Resources Limited, Tasman Exploration Ltd. as well as several other oil and gas companies. Mr. Fischer is a former Chairman of the Calgary Olympic Development Association (CODA), and was appointed to the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame in 2007. In 2008, he was selected as Calgary’s Sportsman of the Year. Mr. Fischer was appointed to the Board of Directors of Solara Exploration Ltd. in 2005.


Donald R. Holding, B.Sc., B.Comm - Director

Mr. Holding began his career at Gulf Canada Resources Inc. in 1980 in the Exploration Land Department where he progressed in various staff and management positions in Land Contracts, Negotiations and Economics over the ensuing nine years. In 1989, he accepted a position with Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Corporation for a period of three years after which time he consulted to two exploration companies in Calgary. In late 1993, Mr. Holding founding Fox Energy Corporation and undertook an initial public offering in 2004. After seven years, Fox grew to 1,050 BOE/d and 950 MMboe of proved plus probable oil and gas reserves, and was sold in late 2001. In early 2002, he founded a private oil and gas company, Ty Energy Corporation, which was subsequently sold privately in July, 2002. Mr. Holding started Ty Resources Limited in the fall, 2002, which eventually became Solara Exploration Ltd. in late 2005. Solara was taken public in December, 2005 initially raising $12,000,000. Mr. Holding has served as the President & C.E.O., and a director, of Solara since 2005.
