President & Chief Executive Officer
Donald R. Holding, President and Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Corporation has 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in Canada. After graduating from the University of Calgary in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree, and subsequently in 1980 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Mr. Holding began his career with Gulf Canada Resources Inc. in the Exploration Land Department where he worked for nine years. From August 1989 to 1992, he worked for Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Corporation (Saskoil) in Calgary. For the period of May 1992 to late 1993, Mr. Holding worked as a land management consultant. In December 1993, Mr. Holding undertook the formation of Fox Energy Corporation ("Fox") which completed its initial public offering on the Alberta Stock Exchange in August, 1994. Over the ensuing seven years, Fox grew to over 1,000 boe/d, and to 950 mbbls and 16 bcf in total proved plus probable reserves. Fox completed two corporate acquisitions and several oil and gas property acquisitions. In 2001, the board of directors of Fox retained a financial advisor to act as agent to solicit offers to sell all of the shares of Fox. The sale transaction was completed in February, 2002 following which, Mr. Holding organized Ty Energy Corporation in March, 2002. Ty Energy Corporation purchased minor producing gas properties in Alberta and was sold in July, 2002. In August, 2002, Mr. Holding organized the Corporation and has served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director until present.
Brent J. McGillivray, P.Eng.
Vice President, Operations & Engineering
Mr. McGillivray has 20 years of experience with junior, intermediate and senior oil and gas companies in Western Canada. He participated as a member in multidisciplinary teams ranging from operations, facilities, production, and completion to exploitation roles. He has worked with Amoco Canada, Husky Oil, Gulf Canada, Anderson Exploration and Ketch Resources Trust. He was a member of a successful private junior oil and gas management team that sold Westpoint Energy (formerly Slade Energy) in 2000, and Pointwest Energy in 2003. In 2006, he was a director of Northern Region, responsible for Northern Alberta and NE British Columbia, with an intermediate size oil & gas trust. Production for the area was 10,000 boepd and a capital budget in excess of $50 million. Mr. McGillivray has been a professional engineer and a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologist and Geophysicists of Alberta since 1993.
Brian A. Skinner, B.Sc., Geol.
Vice President, Exploration
Mr. Skinner has been employed in the oil and gas industry since his graduation from the University of Alberta in 1969. He has conducted exploration programs in the United States, Indonesia, Great Britain and Canada. In addition to his involvement in exploration, Mr. Skinner has been directly involved in the establishment and management of four public oil and gas companies.
James E. Lawson, CA
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Lawson is a chartered accountant by profession and has been practicing within his profession as a sole practitioner since 1986. Over his business and professional career of 36 years, he has served as a chief financial officer or a director of a number of public and private companies. Mr. Lawson’s areas of focus have included corporate finance, business advice in accounting, taxation and reporting issues. During the past five years, Mr. Lawson has served as a Chief Financial Officer and Director of Jubilee Resources Inc. and Canscot Resources Ltd; both companies listed on the TSX Venture Exchange until sold in 2003. In addition, Mr. Lawson was a Director of Tusk Energy Inc. until it became a trust in November of 2004. Mr. Lawson continues to be a Director of Tusk Energy Corporation which is listed on the TSX.
Ross O. Drysdale, LLB.
Corporate Secretary
Ross O. Drysdale, Corporate Secretary of the Corporation, is a lawyer and counsel to the law firm of Burstall Winger LLP in Calgary, Alberta. Mr. Drysdale has over thirty years of experience in the legal profession and specializes in corporate and business law with a particular focus on public companies. Mr. Drysdale is a graduate of Mount Allison University (B.A) and the University of New Brunswick (LL.B). He was admitted to the New Brunswick bar in 1973 and the Alberta bar in 1978. Prior to moving to private practice in 1985, he spent over eight years working as legal counsel for two major oil and gas companies in Calgary, followed by seventeen years with McCarthy Tetrault LLP, a major Canadian law firm, of which Mr. Drysdale was a partner for 12 years and two and one half years with Baker & McKenzie LLP in Calgary, Alberta. Mr. Drysdale is a director and officer of a number of private and public companies.
